about

One of those rare times when I heard music without lyrics, and lyrics without music, and at some point finally sorted out that they went together.

lyrics

We took a trip across the divide
Through the treacherous lands of the other side
We hung your bloody shirt up on the line
But I didn't realize the blood was mine

We returned home and went inside
To prepare for the coming night
We scrubbed the castoff from the floors and made them shine
But I didn't realize the blood was mine

All of the guests stood in surprise
At the wonders laid before their eyes
They all applauded as you turned the blood back into wine
But I didn't realize the blood was mine
