about

When I'd demoed this one, it was a rock & roll song. But Matt put an R&B beat to it and gave it a completely different feel (which I feel works better in the Coincidence Machine context).
Like "Heavy" and "Wish", this one also has no guitar. All the distorted lead work at the end is bass.

lyrics

What will it take to earn your love?
What will it take to earn your love?

Thirty pieces of silver and an ounce of gold.
Thirty pieces of silver and an ounce of gold.
Then you’ll have my love.

What will it take to have your love?
What will it take to have your love?

A pound of flesh and a pint of blood.
A pound of flesh and a pint of blood.
Then you’ll have my love.

What will it take to know your love?
What will it take to know your love?

Half a moment or a million hours.
Half a moment or a million hours.
Then you’ll know my love.
