Snow Day

from Upside Out by Coincidence Machine

/

about

A loose description of someone I'd like to meet one day. This is another fan favourite, and we were fortunate to have Stella add her voice to it.

lyrics

She walks through umbrella’d plazas
People hurry by
Hats and hoods obscure their faces
No one sees the sky
Puddles create obstacles
Detours need to be made
She stands up to the falling rain
And continues on her way

She says: “Sometimes I don’t mind the rain
It washes all the snow away
Sometimes I enjoy the snow
It gives me a day to be alone”

She strolls down deserted sidewalks
The shops are closed today
No traffic on the avenue
The people are away
Snow banks bordering the roads
Make it hard to get around
She violates the chilly wind
And proceeds through the town

She says: “Sometimes I don’t mind the rain
It washes all the snow away
Sometimes I enjoy the snow
It gives me a day to be alone”
