Bad Wolf 03:42
Who's gonna pick up the toys And return them to the chest When the day is done? And who's gonna wash the dishes And replace them in the cupboard When the evening comes? Who's gonna fold the laundry And place it in the closet When the evening calls? And who's gonna gather the books And arrange them on the shelf When the night falls? Bad Wolf They tell me how the roads to heaven are paved But I'm not looking to be saved Just someone to share my grave I know how the roads to heaven are paved But I'm not looking to be saved Just someone to share my grave

We took a trip across the divide Through the treacherous lands of the other side We hung your bloody shirt up on the line But I didn't realize the blood was mine We returned home and went inside To prepare for the coming night We scrubbed the castoff from the floors and made them shine But I didn't realize the blood was mine All of the guests stood in surprise At the wonders laid before their eyes They all applauded as you turned the blood back into wine But I didn't realize the blood was mine

We hide and avoid the hounds They cried without making a sound We snide and put them all down They tried to bring us all 'round We fly and think we’re safe and sound With feet on the ground We dive in the waters we drowned They strive not to come unwound We tithe to the king we crowned They writhe in treasures they’ve found We fly with feet on the ground With feet on the ground

Talking to you is like beating my head ‘gainst a wall The things you say don’t make any sense at all And you just sit there looking so confused I try to explain but it ain’t no use Baby, you’re so obtuse Talking to you is like putting my head in a vice Everything I tell you I have to say it twice But I keep sticking my head in the noose And you just sit there looking so confused I try to explain but it ain’t no use Baby, you’re so obtuse Talking to you is like being hit by a truck I don’t know why I keep pressing my luck And start a conversation I can only lose But I keep sticking my head in the noose And you just sit there looking so confused I try to explain but it ain’t no use Baby, you’re so obtuse

As I walk down the street the flowers grow And the people put on their shades Or retreat indoors instead And wait until the afternoon heat fades The lizards all crawl onto rocks and everyone turns their heads While I move through the day like a great big sunshine * And where are the children? They’ve all run off to play god And they’ll all sleep soundly through the night knowing I’ll be back again like a great big sunshine * As I walk down the street the flowers wilt And the people don their swimwear They lay about in the afternoon haze And drink lemonade on their lawn-chairs The lizards all climb under rocks and everyone adjusts their gaze While I cross the horizon like a great big sunshine

about

Recorded during the brief time that Steve DiBellis was playing drums w/ us, this album was a landmark in the evolution to our current sound. You can hear the melding (and sometimes blurring) of genres, the quirky rhythms, and sense of humour.
